Alpha Xi Delta

Iota Omicron at San Jose State University

Chapter Philanthropy

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness. This semester we are so proud to announce that we will now be supporting Stand Up for Kids located here in San Jose! The AmaXIng Challenge is Alpha Xi Delta’s signature fundraising event benefitting The Kindly Hearts Initiative. During our last fall semester we hosted a Football Frenxi which gave our chapter and other members of the greek life community the opportunity to raise money for The Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. Houses had the opportunity to donate canned food and volunteer at our local Second Harvest food bank. During each spring semester we host a pageant known as Xi Man & Xi Woman where each fraternity & sorority has one representative. This week each participating house shows the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta its dedication to our philanthropy through several events like Light it up Blue, Catch a Xi and Grilled Xis/Splash a Candidate. We had so much fun crowning our new Xi Man & Xi Woman and cannot wait to work with the greek life community again!

Letter From Our Philanthropy Vice President

My name is Raven Libunao and I am serving as the Iota Omicron chapter of Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropy Vice President.

As we jump into the 2022-2023 school year, I am so incredibly excited that our chapter is supporting and taking on a brand new philanthropy. Our chapter has a unique opportunity to make an impact with San Jose State’s own locality which fosters a deep sense of pride in our new philanthropic efforts. As of now, we are embracing the Kindly Hearts Initiative, which serves the focus of supporting children experiencing foster care and homelessness. This year we are choosing to support a local organization that is very close to our hearts. As a member of a sisterhood of women, I strongly support women's rights and the right to choose. I believe that children experiencing foster care and homelessness is one of the direct results of those who are less fortunate to raise, support, and protect children, yet having them under adverse circumstances.

XoXi,

Raven Libunao
