About Iota Omicron
- The members of the Iota Omicron chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at San Jose State University are a group of bold, driven, and supportive women who believe in inspiring each other to realize our potential on campus, in our community, and for life. Founded in 2010, our chapter has been a proud part of the SJSU community for 15 years. Our sisters are proud to be student leaders, dedicated scholars, and active members of the San José State community. We strive for excellence in the classroom while also giving back through service and philanthropy. Supporting The Kindly Hearts Initiative is especially meaningful to us, and we love bringing our community together through events like Grilled Xi’s and Light It Up Double Blue and Gold, which raise both funds and awareness for our cause. At Iota Omicron, we are committed to making a positive impact both on campus and beyond.More than anything, Iota Omicron is about sisterhood. Our chapter brings together women from diverse backgrounds, majors, and experiences, creating a community where every member feels valued and supported. From traditions that bring us together to friendships that last long past graduation, Iota Omicron is a place where women can grow into the best version of themselves, all while surrounded by sisters who truly feel like family.
About Alpha Xi Delta
- In 1893, ten young women at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois, shared a vision and a dream of a national organization dedicated to the personal growth of women. Their dream became Alpha Xi Delta, one of the oldest women’s fraternities in the United States.
The timeless ideals envisioned by Alpha Xi Delta’s Founders remain constant throughout the years, inspiring pride in each member to pursue individual excellence. Now a national fraternity with more than 171,000 initiated members, our Fraternity is a progressive organization with college chapters and alumnae associations throughout the United States.
Alpha Xi Delta is proud of its history and lasting impact on its members and the Panhellenic community. In fact, Alpha Xi Delta’s first National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Chairman wrote the Panhellenic Creed, which all members of NPC still recite on college campuses today.
Alpha Xi Delta’s Founders left us a great legacy. They taught us the value of education because it frees us to achieve our goals and gives us the power to be whatever we choose. They taught us to support one another through shared experiences and understanding. They taught us to serve others and reach out to better the lives of those less fortunate. Because of them, Alpha Xi Delta continues to inspire countless bold and talented women to realize their potential.
